Groups who are deprived of culture often see little value in the pursuit of artistic gain.

revolution

What is a revoltion?

For me revolution is any minority standing up to a stringer force and in this picture we can just a situation.

Why does the photo represent revolution to you?

This means revolution to me because it has the classic elements of romance literature. Those are man vs machine, man vs state.

Describe the imagery on the photo.

There is a wonderful lack of balance in the photograph. One side with the heavy and solid metal of the tanks on one side and on the other the fragile man. The everyday man coming home from work with his shopping bags, the action therefore is not extraordinary but that we all could accomplish.

The Trotsky

Last night I watched the film, on Halil's recommendation, The Trotsky. It is a Canadian film which may show you a different kind of movie than that you are used to seeing from America or England. The Canadian film sector often produces films that have different types of characters and story lines from those that are for mass consumption, or what you might have been exposed to in the theatres which usually show only the biggest blockbusters from the two biggest English speaking nations. I can recommend this film and if you have any thing that you think we all should see or just me, don't hesitate to tell me. I have included a link the film below, so if you are interested you can check it out as well.

Reflections on IELTS

Yesterday I did the half of the ielts exam. I didn’t think that it was difficult but there was a lot of pressure to finish on time. I think that next time I will know what to expect and be able to answer more of the questions.

How I feel about this test is a silly question. Of course I don’t like doing it. I resent the fact that I need to do this in order to prove to someone my ability in the language. However in the big picture it makes sense that all the Universities in the world need a common system in order make their degrees valid.

About testing in general, I think that I like it. Maybe I am a masochist but maybe it is because I generally do well on standardized tests which some consider to be invalid but I think are nice targets throughout an academic year.
